what we have been up to

Most of the summer (2011) has been taken up with three very diverse film in theatre projects.  We have been involved in two of the three performances of 1000 Airplanes on the Roof with Red Note Ensemble, including the version in the Concorde Hanger. We also created sumptuous visuals for Kes with Catherine Wheels, & we have just finished work with Shona Reppe on The Curious Scrapbook of Josephine Bean which has been getting terrific reviews

our new venture creating  apps

Our initial apps are educational, with an emphasis on fun for children in the 2yr - 9yr bracket (I guess its a world we know well so its an ideal starting point), however, we are also exploring fresh areas where there are no apps yet. You might not know d fie foe as an ideas hothouse, but we are developing stuff which is going to redefine the form :-)


can d fie foe really redefine the form ?

Well we dug out a pitch for a web initiative we made in March 2000.  This was written five years before youtube went live (yeah yeah - everybody invented youtube before youtube - but it was a good pitch) we replaced our original project name with youtube because it makes it a better read.....


Our Pitch in March 2000:

why youtube is an advertiser’s dream site
  • people stay on the site longer because theres so much to see
  • everybody wants to make movies:  we’ll use the public’s insatiable desire to show what they've created to:  their friends, their town, the world!!!!!
  • 15 minutes of fame at least
  • people keep coming back to the site
  • audiences build rapidly once specialist magazines catch on and start rating us
  • excellent interactive future potential
  • the focus is on young animation but the site appeals to a large audience across the board
  • short tight clips keep the download quick and the interest up

why young people submit their film & love the site
  • a chance to shine and boast to your friends and family that your work is on youtube
  • prizes for exhibiting flavour of the month work with prizes for the movies voted into the peoples choice chart (the biggest prizes go for the most downloaded movie of the month)
  • to be involved with this exciting hip trendy site!

what is eligible?
  • everything; giff animations are the starting point, but as technology moves forward flash & realtime mini epics become the norm
